Will regular Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Humana plan premiums stay the same?

My company just moved all to BC/BS over the past 15 years with United. Hope it will be better... doubtful.

I'm self employed and have to buy it for my family myself. The premiums suck, but the coverage is good. I could have bought a beach house for what I'm paying though.

The purpose of insurance is to keep healthcare costs manageable and I understand your point but the point I am making is if you never use your insurance or rarely yet it keeps increasing exponentially then it isn’t doing its job for the vast majority of the insured. It’s just a shell game meant to convince you of its necessity unless you actually believe they are paying out billions of dollars each year for over inflated costs? They aren’t. You pay monthly premiums, THEN you pay a copay, AND any bills associated with any additional services. Ask yourself, what exactly is the monthly premium going towards in that scenario? Very little

We have been with BC/BS of Texas for years, large group.
Doesn't pay shite for anything major until I hit 5K out of pocket, I've been hit hard twice in 12 years.
1. Kid broke a bone in hand playing football. 5K
2. Me - CT scan for possible pancreatitis (negative) so I paid 5K to be told I didn't have it.
It pays for Rx and Dr's visits but it would be a lot cheaper to pay them out of pocket. Mine for me and 1 kid is $1,500.00 a month, company pays 2/3'rds me 1'rd. 8% increase this year

Shouldn't they realize now there’s a direct correlation between healthcare costs and the amount of subsidies given by the government? How many times do they have to go down this road before they realize the damage the increased government spending does? This is identical to the rise in college. When the government give more, costs skyrocket.

Thanks, but that's not a function of employer sponsored health insurance.
That's just a function of health insurance.
It has nothing to do with the employer sponsoring it.
Not directly, but employers are sponsoring health insurance BECAUSE it’s tax deductible. I believe a lot of the problems with health care could be solved by taxing employer provided health care as income. This would end the practice, result in hefty raises, and allow people to go buy what they want. You could even mandate catastrophic insurance. I believe if this happened we’d see a lot of people buy cheap catastrophic insurance and directly pay for basic care. And you can bet the cost of both would be a lot lower than what we’re paying now.

Is this a good time to remind folks that not a single Republican voted for this shite?
