who even decided to start calling them "murder" hornets anyway? That should tell you right there, that they want us to go in another panic mode.

Despite the media branding them as “murder hornets” (fear porn) they are no more aggressive than other yellowjackets

Honey bees, I love. But all the ones that make hanging nests seem to have a natural hostility towards TigerAxe.
I'm not particularly overly worried about the big bastards from Asia though. I've gotten quite proficient at striking even the smallest of wasps out of the air with only my fishing rod, so a bigger target = advantage me.

Bees actually lure them into their colony and kill them with heat.

I’m not sure if anyone here has ever followed Coyote Peterson, but he is a wildlife expert who has a popular YouTube channel and Animal Planet show. His whole thing is that he seeks out the worst stings and bites in the world, and purposefully lets himself get stung/bitten. He has been stung by this hornet (whose non-hysteria name is the Asian Giant Hornet). In an interview with TMZ he pointed out a few things: 1) the Asian Giant Hornet sting is not the worst sting he has experienced, that was the Executioner Wasp; 2) there has only been one Asian Giant Hornet found here, and it’s now dead. So the spread of them across the U.S. is unlikely; 3) he said the people who should be the most worried are beekeepers, because of the threat the Asian Giant Hornet would pose to the bee population if they did spread across the U.S.
In short, most of what we hear about the “murder Hornet” is just hype. Most people are not going to be threatened by the Asian Giant Hornet.

How many murder hornet stings does it take to kill granny? That is the only question that matters... Why the frick do all of you want granny to die?

Yellow jackets on the other hand can barely be seen while they napalm your skin.
This is oh so true.

The great thing about the Asian Giant Hornet and Executioner Wasp are that they aren't very aggressive toward humans. I watched the video of Coyote Peterson getting stung by the Executioner and it took a while for that insect to finally get pissed off enough to sting him. But once it did sting...wow...I don't think I've ever seen a man writhe around in pain quite like that before.

Any reports of people seeing them should be taken with high skepticism.

. Not until I saw the yellow jackets did it really start hurting.
i saw them and bolted before i got hit.
if anyone was curious, HS me could out run them for about 60 yards or so.
First one tagged me between shoulder blades and i stumbled.
That was all she wrote.
another 30 yards and i would have reached the canal.
