Cut him some slack - he's probably only 14 years old.

I don't see why you can't use a rope and if you're really that concerned, light metal braided cable.

Not that I use it often, but my dog has a steel braided cable and it was fine.

That crap may work for a small and not very active dog but in general those plastic covered braided cables are just a missing dog waiting to happen. I don't see why you don't understand that a dog can chew through rope.

Funny how bringing up a law that will create real problems is a shitty thread. If there were not so many dumbasses they wouldn't have caught the deserved crap they got. GFY by the way.

So you're blaming us because you want to use a 3 ft chain on your 100 pound pit?

Granbury is interestingly full of airheads, some older than 14. Focus and tell me a better dog restraint material than light chain.

Nice try, pretty good for a leftard. You do know why people have to chain their dogs up in fenced yards don't you? At least in some neighborhoods. Think real hard, put the pipe down and stop dreaming of sniffing Bidens depends.

Imagine posting on a heavily conservative board, getting a huge downvote ratio (45 down to 1 up) and thinking everyone else must be a moron "Biden supporter".

If you can't live without having your dog on a chain all the time, maybe you shouldn't own dogs?

The problem is if you are not Biden supporters you are all generally ignorant or stupid just like tha average Biden voter. Just like your statement, the subject is not about having my or anyone elses dog on a chain all the time. So Smeg work on your reading comprehension and PYHO.

Another one, yes I support this bill except for one thing, forcing us to not use light chain. It is mind boggling that so many of you know nothing about dogs and the necessity of sometimes restraining dogs. It is also stunning the severe lack of reading comprehension among what are supposed to be college students. Not all people forced to restrain their dogs treat their animals deplorably. The subject is the material now required by law is either rope or plastic covered braided metal, neither of which is totally satisfactory to keep the dog from getting out and being injured or injuring someone elses dog or even biting someone. The unintended consequences of such a stupid restriction should be obvious.

Where did I say any dog had to be kept on a chain all the time? Many are chained outside while their owners are at work. If that is not ok with you then get a job euthanizing dogs, make yourself happy. Because this law if enforced will cause many dogs to be sent to shelters and euthanized. Many will be lost, run over, bite people, get in fights but if that is what you want then surely you can find a place that will let you murder dogs.

A fence has always done the trick for me. I’m not a poor so I don’t know what the poor people use. I’d imagine a quarter inch cable would be reliable. Not sure how that’s a loose dog waiting to happen. Maybe enlighten us there?

Then make your own using higher end steel braided cable, or just buy multiple of them and wrap them all in some sort of covering? We had a 120 pound dog on one of the XL's meant for dogs, and he never tore it up.

I get that you're butthurt, but there are obviously solutions out there for these kind of things, or one hell of an opportunity for you to start your own business.

Good for him. Owning pit bulls is a trashy arse move that seems to pose dangers to children that live nearby.
