Because it's a very expensive jet that they chartered. It wasn't cheap... cost considerably more than a plane ticket on United.

It appears under the state constitution that failure to appear at a governor ordered session is abdication.
If Abbot were serious, there would not be "arrest warrants" there would be appointments to the democrat seats.
They would return post haste to file their lawsuits. Perhaps the arrest warrants are a precursor so if they come back to file a lawsuit they would be arrested.
