Seems like a really fun show and 5 seasons are on Netflix, I will check it out.

First they moved the show to Friday night, then just canceled it.

They can't even have Tim Allen speaking the truth.

Yeah, Friday night is usually a death sentence for a television show. See what happened to Firefly on FOX in the early 2000s.

Really good show. One of the best comedies available....if not the best comedy. I can't think of one I like better.

How do these two even make it in the same post?

That's one of the things I heard.

Not only that, but unlike Modern Family, Allen is the one bona fide star of his show. I've seen the wife, and she's good, but she isn't a star.

Point being, there's no way that this show even came close to Modern Family w/regards to total payroll for the cast.

Personally, I think ABC/20th Century responded to Allen's truthful remarks about Hollywood by basically firing him. Hence, only serving to prove his point about those neo-Nazis.

It was the #2 comedy behind Modern Family

#3 Show behind Grey's and Modern Family

#4 behind Dateline, Grey's and Modern

----

P.S: I find it quite odd that all of the articles bemoaning the move are written by the production company of the show: Fox

Remember, this show wasn't owned by ABC, and in the Netflix day and age - not owning the show you are airing is actually kinda costly. Fox ends up with the much better deal, by getting royalties from every place like Netflix, or Amazon.

Lastly, this show had a much older demo... so yes the ratings were great (I actually love the show and watch it every summer when it comes to netflix) - but the ones that watched it on TV were older, which advertisers aren't a huge fan of (the younger demo actually shrunk another 5% this year)

P.S.S. I have watched every season so far of this show, I really enjoy it, and I am sad that it got cancelled... but I can KINDA see why it did, but I am in no way agreeing with the decision, it really should have stayed on the air. Do I think it would still be on the air if Tim Allen wasn't so conservative...? Maybe

It is none of those things. For example.

When did bigotry become "inclusive"?

Good point.

For the life of me, I simply don't see much genuine humanity in the likes of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Michael Moore, Sarah Silverman, Bill Maher, etc. etc.

It means they lost the battle.

It's the 3rd highest rated scripted show of any genre of the entire network. It's already in syndication as well.

There was obviously a political component here.

Uh it was the third highest watched show for ABC on any night of the week. Only Greys Anatomy and one other pulled more viewers.

But go ahead and keep spouting bullshite like you know what your talking about.

It was moved to Friday night. Which is this shows demographic. High ratings. Already in syndication.
Tim Allen's character was right leaning and hated Hill.
I'm surprised it lasted this long.
Didn't Adam Carolla help write this show?

I watched this show for the beginning and watch it almost every day in syndication. I like it so much, I've told many of my friends to watch as well.
I loved the banter between Mike Baxter the staunch conservative and his liberal son n law.

The America we grew up in is growing progressively more liberal with each passing day. A new order is emerging. More multicultural, more progressive, more inclusive. A new order that has cannabis and psychedelics as it's sacraments to help open our third eye and lead us onward into the brave new world of the 21st century. The old world and it's bankrupt institutions are crumbling before our very eyes. The old political, religious, social, and financial order is breaking down to enable something more enlightened and organic to take it's place. A society that is less hierarchical and patriarchal. A society more multicultural and feminine. It is upon us. There is no going back to even the world of ten years ago. It does not bode well for religious and social conservatives. That rigid way of thinking is about to be dead and buried.

I assume you view this as a positive?
