American troops are fighting in Israel in what degree?
Yeah, his comment was uncalled for and probably antisemitic. I don't associate with people of his ilk.

Perhaps some of you guys/gals should research because some of you think that Congressmen only visit Israel. UK, France, Zambia, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, etc. etc. etc. all have large numbers of US congressional leaders visiting paid for by those governments.

Germany

WASHINGTON — The U.S. is set to send its largest congressional delegation yet to the 2019 Munich Security Conference, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Mike Pence, but it could all fall apart if talks to avert a government shutdown fail.

“We began our visit in Munich, where around 10% of the Congress was present, Democrats and Republicans, members of the House, members of the Senate. All of them here, reaffirming our commitment to the Transatlantic Alliance, our commitment to NATO, our respect for the European Union,” Pelosi told a press conference in Brussels.

Any previous conflicts in which American blood and money has been spent that benefited Israel only goes to show the unbreakable, divine bond shared between our countries.

My bad, I thought the Munich Security Conference was an annual conference on international security policy that was attended by 70 countries around the world to engage in an intensive debate on current and future security challenges.

I didn't realize it was a vacation paid for by Germany through a front group (lobby) for our congressmen.

Special relationships can't be bought with shekels. They're paid for in blood and sacrifice. This is what makes our alliance so strong.

Then you should do some research on the Munich Security Conference Foundation which is a non-profit funded by the German Government to keep US bases in Germany but go ahead and push your uninformed narrative.

I stand corrected. I've already apologized for what I said was a mistaken assumption about conflicts of interest. This is obviously a special relationship. And it appears to be on the verge of becoming more special which is great for all Americans. Our job numbers are great and America is prosperous. Special relationships are what make that possible. It's a shame we don't have more.

Israel has always done the United States well. We probably wouldn't have Liberty otherwise.

The Founding Fathers believed in the US having strong, binding alliances based on one-sided "aid". As evidenced by these quotes, which might seem to imply the opposite of what I've just said, but you have to read between the lines

quote:

"It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world": it was George Washington's Farewell Address to us. The inaugural pledge of Thomas Jefferson was no less clear: "Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations-entangling alliances with none."

They were, in fact, advocating for special relationships. If you look closely, it's in there

I apologize for calling your narrative uniformed it clearly is not.

For the others--Israel is sitting on two enormous oil & gas reserves and they joined up with Noble Energy and Genie Energy to build pipelines to export the oil/gas to Egypt, Italy, Greece, Jordan, Cyprus, and ultimately into Europe so they aren't so dependent on the Russian/Iranians for their energy needs. The strategic importance of Israel can't be understated which is one of several reasons they are an important partner to the US. LINK
