41 Democrats went on an AIPAC-sponsored trip to Israel but you wouldn’t know that from their Twitter accounts

Last week 41 Democratic members of Congress went to Israel on a trip sponsored by American Israel Education Foundation, a branch of AIPAC. “This is the largest delegation that has ever visited Israel,” bragged House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, who led the trip. However, there was a curious element to the annual trip: hardly any of these visitors has tweeted about their vacation. Apart from reports in the Israeli media that the Dems stood and clapped for Benjamin Netanyahu, and sightings by their Republican counterparts who were over there, you’d hardly know that the Dems even went.

The absence of chatter from the Democrats obviously reflects the misgivings that the Democratic base has about the special relationship between the U.S.

Many of the 72 Congresspeople who went to Israel in August 2019. Tweeted by Kevin McCarthy, on August 10.

It's certainly a special relationship, all right. Do we do this with any of our EU special allies?

Are AIPAC/Israeli government-sponsored, all-expense paid trips okay? asking for a friend

Everyone deep down knows what the American-Israel relationship truly is but too many are afraid to speak out and those who do get branded as Hitler 2.0

We send so much "aid" to Israel, it's likely our own tax dollars wind up being used to lobby for more tax dollars for Israel.

I was told by some Patriots on this board earlier today that this is "money well spent."

And?
I thought the prevailing position was to help allies fight terrorism over there?

How do you feel about the sending our money to "fight" the "crisis" of global warming??

*hint...one is real the other is a money grab*

I think its hilarious you are trying to turn this into a democrat vs. republican or liberal vs. conservative thing.

No..not at all.
I was pointing to Americans (dems)...not a foreign nation.

What don't you understand about that?

What if I told you that I think sending money to a country that has its own money is not a good investment? What if I told you think I don't think we should send billions to fight the global warming crisis either? And what does one have to do with the other? Why do you always change the subject when this topic is discussed? Do you work for AIPAC?

Can you define what you mean by well spent?
What is your criteria of evaluation?

I don't need to do either of these things. It's my money. I don't have to tell you how I want to spend it other than I don't think this is a good use of it.

You're confused.
I'm not comparing R vs D..I'm pointing our ral situations vs the made up "crisis" of climate cycles, and the "need" for everyone to alter their lives in order to shift trillions of tax dollars to hucksters like Al Gore et.al.
What don't you understand about this?
