The Corps has told our office that they have completed construction on 39.8 miles using FY17 appropriations funding, and that additional projects using FY18 funding are underway," a representative for Hoeven's office wrote in an email to Washington Examiner.

I've even posted drone video of new wall being built

400 miles renovated or new...
So 399.5 miles of 'renovated' that the renovations began under Obama, and 0.5 miles of 'new' that are really just those sample 'walls' they put up in the desert?

I'm so glad to see you finally admit and even fricknutz thought we needed a border wall.

Nope, those are all old projects. Go read about them.

A simple fact that the ACOE says you're a fricking liar

Wow! Really?! I must have missed this, because hey, my claim was that no fencing and vehicle bollards have been built. So this drone video would obliterate my point!
Oh wait, no... It wouldn't. Because I've never made that claim. What I said, and what his department heads have said, is that every single ongoing project is part of a repair or replace program that began before trump (fences and vehicle bollards) and its been made clear that his first new barrier sections will go up this month, 2 years into his term. I assume that target will be missed, as we've not heard anything about it.

2 years in, we have 0 inches of new wall. Just dropping that on the table.
During the Trump administration, construction has been completed on just less than 40 miles of new Wall in areas on which no Wall existed prior to his election That construction was funded under the 2017 budget, which was approved under Obama. Those 40 miles are located in high-traffic areas of San Diego, Calif.; Santa Teresa, N.M.; Calexico, Calif.; and El Paso, Texas, in other words, areas where almost everyone agrees that physical barriers are necessary and effective.
The remaining portion of the “400 miles“ is simply repair &/or replacement of structures pre-existing Trump’s election. Yes, this “construction” is “new,” but that is an exercise in semantics. It also does not cover one foot of border that was not previously covered by a barrier of some sort. Yes, the new construction is far superior to the structures in place prior to Trump’s election and is certainly more effective.
In fairness to Trump, he all HAS attempted to obtain funding for additional construction, but Congress has repeatedly told him “no.“. That is how funding of governmental construction works in our system, so I do not fault Trump for failing to obtain the funding. (This “state of emergency” nonsense is another matter).

Trump has plenty of discretionary money. This is a ridiculous talking point. Queen Ann is correct on this matter, just as she is correct to point out that Trump is has failed to build any new wall sections, and rather has continued old barrier projects, or restored and or replaced existing barriers.

so you are telling me if there is a part of the border that doesnt have a wall, and tomorrow there is a wall, that it isnt new?

I heard it was going to be 4,000,000 miles of new wall.
This just proves some people hear what they want to hear. You should work on that

I'm telling you that Trump has not been able to negotiate or direct the construction of wall in any place where a project hasn't already been started by a previous president. Congress shut him down (spanked his arse) for two years, and he only recently really looked at using his discretionary funding from the various executive functions to build his own barrier sections.
This is a politically relevant observation.
