How do we know the floor just didn’t sink?
It's locked in from above. Otherwise it would fall over.

Where do you find this ridiculous shite? You can find tons of videos of people passing shite right underneath it. I've already provided one.

the Barabar caves in particular are an insanely accurate and smooth carving out of solid granite, from around 300 - 100 BC

Here's some even older shite from Egypt where someone milled a symmetrically perfect granite vase to millimeter thinness. So thin it is semi-translucent.
This frickin retard will try and tell everyone this was done with copper chisels.

Why dont they pass it entirely through?
What exactly are you arguing here? That it's somehow less impressive if it's barely touching the floor on one side? How frickin stupid are you?

That it's not a sign of unknown advanced tech. You keep lobbing insults. Your alternate history documentaries have sensationalized the "perfection" and you've bought into it entirely.

I'm no expert, & never will be, but the point about so many of these ancient structures is that we DON'T know how they were done. Especially the Barabar caves. Or why they were built.
That's not any reason to default to 'aliens'. Not from me, at least. But as Graham Handcock suggests, there's plenty of reason to think we've lost some amazing knowledge that the ancients knew and we don't.
Even Stonehenge, in the UK, is baffling once we realize where the stones came from, and how far they had to travel just to then be positioned and put into place.

As long as you keep saying stupid shite I'm going to keep calling it stupid.

Right. I brought up the laser precision stonework because someone mentioned things carved in stone representing technology we wouldn't see for thousands of years. Laser precision stonework is exactly that and there are shitloads more examples. Tons of symmetrically perfect granite statuary to be found in Egypt we could look at.

Imagine my surprise to see this guy lying.
And of course, the Indians have written accounts of things going back thousands of years before the Barabar caves construction. Poems 10,000 stanzas in length (or something ridiculous) describing their civilization in extreme detail, but no mention of this shite.

Keep at it then because all of it is and has been explained. And no, there is no laser like precision. The laser scans demonstrated imperfections but your kook sites minimize them and play up the idea that there must have been some special tech. Again, you've been a kook on this site for years and most people are entertained by how looney you have been. Everyone knows BoarEd/AlterEd is a goof.

Yeah, like how bronze chisels or balls of stone were used to cut the stones for the pyramids?
Just because there's a text book saying we know how it was done doesn't mean it's true.
We used to think dinosaurs were cold blooded and sauropods lived in the swamps and lakes to support their great weight. Not true.

What do you mean? Give me a copper chisel and I'll have this hammered out in no time. Mirror finish and all.
Hell, I'll even tune the pillars to the 12 musical notes so you can play the drums on them.

The source of how it was built comes from...
quote:and
James C. Harle
The Art and Architecture of the Indian Subcontinent
One of the standard references for Mauryan architecture
Describes:
rock-cut excavation method (chisels + quarrying)
subsequent polishing phase (“Mauryan polish”)
quote:and few ancient cultures actually documented engineering techniques in any detail.
George Michell
The Monuments of India
Summarizes construction as:
granite cutting using iron tools
shaping of chambers
final polishing to a mirror finish

Nobody said that would take no time, your logic is failing even more.
