I don't believe the $236 billion number, but if it were true, there is no way it would ever pay off. $236 billion is 20-25% of a typical annual budget for the US, based on recent years. It's something like 40% of our annual military budget (not using a calculator but should be close).

edit: I'd need to see some explanation of the $236B figure to understand how they come up with that projection. Seems high.

Arizona managed to spend $80MILLION PER MILE on a frickING LIGHT RAIL.
Although that's an enormous amount of money, it makes a lot more sense. Right of way in highly developed urban area is expensive, not to mention construction expenses.

A border wall still has right of way issues since it has to pass through private property (sometimes, anyway). But it should be a lot less expensive since most of the border isn't urbanized.

Voted for Trump but the wall is not needed. The government should strategically space several military installations along the border and train our troops with the high tech gadgets we have available to monitor the whole damn border, now the soldiers can get real experience using the technology and at the same time intercepting the law breakers.

Of course it's not that much but of even so it would pay off. The government can borrow that money and only pay something like 5 billion a year interest on it and the extra we could put towards paying the debt down and it wouldn't take too long at all, especially when you factor in inflation.

Back to wall. Whatever it would cost, dont let your member of congress use your tax dollars.

Why give trump a pass? This wall was supposed to demonstrate his negotiating skills. Come on. Man up. Tell congress you wont pay for trumps wall. Trumps folly was to think congress would bow to him. Help congress stand up for a debt ceiling. Trump wants you to let him outspend obama. Infrastructure. Trillion $$$$$$$$$$. More war materials. 54 billion on top of the planned expenses. New Nukes. And Mexico's wall. Confess. You are disappointed.

Are you against more debt or just when an "R" is in control of the Presidency?

Well that is a lie, but to play along, that would still be 84 points higher than yours...
