If I understood the Governor correctly during his press conference a few minutes ago he said that 200 patients have been treated at the Morial Convention Center and that currently 17 patients were housed there.

It costs $109.5 million to get that facility setup.

Spending on the biggest effort to surge Louisiana's medical capacity--a temporary hospital facility at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans--has grown to $109.5 million, according to Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne. That increase came after Gov. John Bel Edwards moved to double the amount of beds there from 1,000 to 2,000.

$547,500 per patient.

Excellent use of tax paying dollars.

I still want that contractors list that’s never been produced. That shite could be built for 1/4 of the price.

Damn. We only spent $6mm on our's. However, we treated ZERO patients, so I guess your cost per patient is technically better.

They built a similar facility in Houston for $60 mm and never saw any patients. The budget was released and the daily payments to contractors were ridiculous. I’m sure it’s the same story here.

Smoothie King Center (New Orleans Arena) was built for $85 million in 2002.

Josh can thank his good buddy JBE for this free money sham project! I'm guessing JBE is also the one who got him a $200 million clean up job in Puerto Rico last year after Hurricane Maria.
