I’ve already said that the major miscalculation is as assuming the Iranian people would rise up. They didn’t. We should have started this war in January when the protestors had the momentum. Trump said “If they start shooting im gonna start shooting.” My guess is that the reason he didn’t is because we didn’t have the assets in place to conduct the war, particularly the air defense assets. That was a mistake. We should’ve just taken the risk and started bombing and supporting the protestors then.
I still support this war. It’s the most righteous war we’ve fought since Korea probably. Unfortunately I think regime change is probably unattainable at this point but we can still take control of the strait from Iran. This MAY weaken the regime enough to encourage the protestors to rise up again. We also need to continue to destroy their ability to support their proxies in the region.
