The Saudis don’t want to strike the Houthis hard because they are deathly afraid of the Houthis knocking out their desalination plants.

You do realize that your typical Saudi...or Omani or Emirati...couldn't make his own bed or clean up his own room if his life depended on it, don't you?
When Americans start to die...as happened in this latest attack...and the Houthis attack ships in the Gulf, then hell yes, it becomes our problem. And it's low hanging fruit. We can start a war with Iran, but we can't take these guys out? Please. We could practically wipe the Houthis off the planet in pretty short order.
