Seems like we didn't have much of a choice as to what brands we bought. The only ones I can remember that were considered cool are:

Nike
Coke shirts
Pepsi shirts (after Coke came out first, though)
Mickey Mouse shirts
general heavy metal band shirts (well, to the headbanging-crowd, at least)
Op
Jimmy'Z
Body Glove
Levis
Deck shoes
Z. Cavaracci
Girbaud
I.O.U.
generic bicycle shorts
Polo

Still popular, I understand. I wear cheaper clothes now, but I think they are still a big seller.

I don't remember this actually being a "cool" brand, though. Just the kind of coat your mom bought you whether you wanted it or not. Like London Fog. Member's Only has only recently become a trendy brand.

Nike

I remember back when they had Nike AIR and Nike versions of the shoes. Pops would never buy me the airs.

The leather African necklace, yes. Forgot about that one.

And I can't believe I left out Guess! Thanks for the reminder.
