Anyone have any experience with the one in New Orleans? Seems like a really cool idea and could really do well in BR.

I'm a member of the New Orleans one and love it. I'm curious how it will be accepted in br. They'll probably have to scale it down some to make it work, ie one or two events per month versus the usual four or five

To me, BR seems like a better fit just because of the fact that nola has so many more options for a good meal, you don't really need a service like this to have a new and interesting dining experience.

I will say that the customers in nola would probably be more open to the idea of this than the typical BR restaurant patron.

I am very excited though.

Agree. I've said this before in Dinner Lab discussions. Baton Rouge doesn't have much of anything in the ways of experimental dining, so this is much needed.

I do wonder about the success here though.

This feels like a misstep from Dinner Lab. Maybe they will be able to catch the attention of enough locals, but I'm skeptical.

I hope it works out for those guys.

See that is part of the business model of dinner lab. They dont need to be successful like a restaurant does, i.e. full house every night. It is a catering business that collects reveues when it decides to put on an event.

So lets say they get 200 people to join and they do 20 dinners a year, that will probably be sufficient to make it successful. There cost and revenue structure is so vastly different from a traditional restaurant that not even worth comparing the two.

Not to mention the $125 membership fee.

This is right up my wife's and my alley. I'd like to think we're a bit more adventurous than eaters than the average BR citizen and we get a little bored with the options here. Maybe I can swing this as her Valentine's present
