I was talking to a group of three men who are officially "off LSU's wagon". Citing inconsistent play. The prospect of Cody Glenn being moved out of the weekend rotation. And just being overrated in general as reasons for their reaction. They had no idea what the point was to not play your best baseball in the start of the season. Had the person so dang serious I would've laughed. But me. Losing one game to yale is not the worst thing in the world. Won the series. Found out that Cody Glenn of this year < Cody Glenn of last year. Bouman will be fine.
ETA: #4 is a good spot for us.

Uh oh... We dropped in the polls. The season is over, throw in the towel, fire everyone.
There's always next year.

It's what Skip used to say all the time about applying the football mentality to baseball.

That's what I told them. But they didn't get it and thought I was an ignorant homer. People can be so stupid when they act like they know everything. Sorry I didn't post at all yesterday with my phone not working. Getting a new one soon! Are we wanting bouman or Glenn now?

10 is where they are for me right now. Nola alone puts us there. Win Friday. Split the weekend. That still puts is at 20-10 in the SEC

From an RPI perspective, I was thinking as we dropped 10 on Yale in the 1st inning that we need to stop playing such crappy RPI teams.
After yesterday's poor pitching and poor hitting (after the first few innings), we need to stop losing to such crappy RPI teams.

RPI's are pretty meaningless until everyone has played at least 20 games or so. Half the teams in the top 25 RPI right now won't be anywhere near there come May.

Bouman had definitely been more consistent though Glenn has gone against 2 of the 3 best teams we have played. Glenn is supposed to start again this Sunday so we'll see how that goes.

strength if schedule comes in to play a lot for the RPI and it only goes off of who you've played already and not future games. The RPI is useless until at least mid april

What was our worry preseason, bullpen and catcher. In two losses this week, both proved costly.

True although before yesterday our bullpen had been better than I expected.

Chinea =/= our catcher. Scivicque looks solid and has a nice bat. Moore a good DH. If mcdouble is in the OF. Hale should be on first with Kramer on 2nd. We will be fine. Right now is just trying some guys out in different roles.

If Bugg doesn't throw it in the pisser yesterday, this is all moot.
ULL is good. Give Glenn a little time to get to last year's level. Scivicque is the catcher, for me.

And the catcher race isn't even close. His defense is solid and he's knocking the crap out of the ball.

The coaches poll came out of hibernation this week.
