It’s a long-standing tradition for Christians on both teams to have chapel together. Each NBA arena offers this service to the players, and there is usually one time and one room.

That wasn’t the case Thursday.

According to multiple sources, the Warriors were surprisingly given a separate, earlier, time for their own chapel services. The Clippers held their own private chapel.

“Man, they don’t want to have chapel with us?” one team source asked. “I never heard that before, but OK.”

The bad blood between the Clippers and Warriors extend back to last season, when Golden State took 3 of 4 against Los Angeles. One of the biggest victories of the last season was an upset of the Clippers at Staples Center in the third game of the season. It was the game after Brandon Rush was lost for the season with a knee injury, and the Warriors responded with a spirited performance.

The Clippers took exception to the Warriors’ celebration antics.

The Clippers are more and more awful every day. Seriously. Zero likability on that team.

They have the freedom to practice or express their faith however they feel appropriate. That this is the first I've heard of teams holding chapel before games speaks to how outspoken they are about it.

And they obviously are leaving it out of the game, as it happens way prior to stepping on the court.

It's just stupid. it's a game. Why do they need to drag religion into a game. Keep your religion private.

It's their job. I know a lot of folks whose faith is a factor in their career.

Are they doing this on camera?

Just say you have a problem with Christians and get it over with.

I'm an atheist and still think it's ridiculous. I go to church if friends or family ask me. It's a courtesy. This is obviously a tradition, so breaking it out of spite for getting your arse whooped the season prior is the definition of bitchmade
