End of the day, R-kansas AD Jeff Long will have committed LSU to spending $1.5MM more a year to keep their coach. The buyout will be increased, Les will get crazy long term security, and inevitably take the easy street at some point in the future.
We just upped the stakes, LSU has to call or fold. Seat licenses, donation requirements, popcorn and hot dog prices, cokes and bottled waters, vendor contracts, parking, and game tickets will all be going up putting more stress on the fanbase and boosters financially. We'll wear you down eventually.
Shouldn't have dicked around with the Boot game. Don't be surprised if a Sumlin rumor pops up on Friday leaving the Ags all weekend to stew.

1.5 million per year is nothing to LSU.
Consider if LSU ONLY made money off of ticket sales:
if we have 7 home games a year, with 90,000 fans buying a ticket (it would be more, but just to make it easy), it only costs each fan less than $3 per ticket more to pay for 1.5 million per year

You honestly think they will match the offer? No, actually hell no. They likely upped him to about a little over 4 mill. They arent raising him from 3.8 to 5.5.
