God for him. He needs to get away although odd that a school would let him speak a week after getting popped.

5 Concerned Taxpayer Says:
November 1st, 2012 at 8:03 pm The Honeybadger was in the finalist group for the Heisman Trophy and played in the National Championship game, which LSU lost to Alabama, and was a first round NFL draft lock for 2013. Then he fails multiple drug tests and is finally kicked out of school. He went into rehab, then returned to LSU asa student this fall, all to much fanfare and pats on the back for the work he was doing to put himself on the right track. A few weeks ago he was arrested with several former teammates bagging marijuana for sale. Throws everything away again, so now he is thinking about just giving up on college and hoping some NFL team will take a chance on him.
So…the message is, do drugs, don’t care about school or your arrest record, just work on becoming a good ball player so you can go pro and become instantly rich. Yep, sure glad our public schools allow role models like the Honeybadger come inspire our kids. Way to go, coach.

Good for TM, good company to keep as well! He needed to get out of Louisiana, without a doubt. BR can corrupt people.

Peterson kept Mathieu out of trouble his freshman and sophomore year. Mathieu looks up to Peterson. This will be good if Peterson is Mathieu’s Mentor.

I think he means the high school team Tyrann was talking to, not LSU.

Why do you assume he's a stranger?

If he wanted to be an agent he'd start with PP, it'd be a lot more lucrative and less stressful.

Mathieu, 20, was dismissed from LSU in August after failing multiple drug tests. He returned to school as a student, but was arrested Oct. 25 on charges of marijuana possession.
According to those close to him, Mathieu escaped to South Florida to decide his future. He is staying in Broward County with the family of Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson, his former LSU teammate, and training locally as he decides if he will declare for the NFL Draft.
“He wanted to get away from the madness in Baton Rouge,” said Pat Lawler, a Boca Raton lawyer and agent for Galaxy Sports. “His mindset is to deal with his problems and get his life in order. He and his family are looking at getting Tyrann back together.”
Lawler, who has not signed Mathieu as a client, said Mathieu wanted to speak to young players while in the area. Lawler called Atlantic assistant coach Eddie Giersbrook, a former classmate at LSU.
Mathieu, one of the most well-known players in college football, spoke to Atlantic players for about 10 minutes.
“I think it was cool. I had never seen him in person,” Atlantic senior Brisly Estime said. “He told us to just work hard and stay in school. He said he made a lot of mistakes, but he stayed positive.”
