So far:
-I've never read Don DeLillo's novel from 2003
-Pattinson is an odd choice
-Giamatti is always awesome
-glad to see Baruchel reaching out
-theme seems cool from the trailer
-mixed reviews from Cannes
-early reviews were very bad on RT but it has since rebounded and has 65 total reviews; not too worried about the critic's anyway due to the director
-IT'S DAVID GODDAM MOTHERfrickING CRONENBERG.... bitches

I'd never heard of it so I did a little reading up. Trailer looks interesting and Pattinson is an odd choice but he gets hated on for Twilight but I think he's actually a pretty good actor. Meta score and imdb early ratings aren't too great.

Not sure I've ever seen an "official" thread for a something that's going to span about a page.
I was pumped to see this before it got shown at Cannes. I'll still check it out, but I'm much more tempered now. I usually dig Cronenberg. Even though he doesn't have what I'd consider traditional flourishes, you can always tell when a movie's his.

Giamatti was actually in Good Morning America today promoting the film. Showed a clip of an exchange between him and Pattinson and it looked promising.

As for Cosmopolis, I don't know, I just have this feeling that it is going to suck horrendously. Like not even your worst movie snob will be able to say it had any redeemable qualities suckage.

Didn't know you lived in NOLA. I'll check this one out over the weekend, but I'll probably pop my post-renovation Canal Place cherry seeing The Master on Friday (I went to go see Beasts of the River Wild there with my ex, but it was sold out when so we showed up so we just got drunk in the Quarter instead.)

I watched this last night. It was fricking terrible. I haven't seen many bad movies since I'm pretty good at sniffing out the bad ones and not seeing them in the first place, so I can honestly say it was the worst movie I've ever seen.
