Would be cool for LSU to go with something similar with an extremely dark purple color with yellow highlights.

As a longtime Oregon fan, I have mixed feelings on our massive closet of uniform options...
They're not for middle-aged guys like me, they are designed for the current high school generation as a recruiting toy to add to the various enticements to hopefully make 17 year old star athletes want to come to Eugene. It is all about recruiting. Starting in 1989 Oregon learned that something as simple as being a little relaxed in uniforms letting players feel like they look good loosens them up, look good feel good play good.

Since the 1995 season Oregon was routinely altered their uniforms on an almost yearly basis. It is now a trademark that kids nationwide know Oregon for, having flashy state of the art uniforms. But it's all about recruiting, if having the team dress up in Cam Newton-esque fairy princess costumes on gamedays would bring some quality recruits to Oregon I would be all for it.
The other reason why Oregon gets so many uniforms is because of the Nike connection. Nike was founded at Oregon by the track coach Bill Bowerman and one of his former runners, Phil Knight. That connection remains strong, as Nike uses Oregon as a test school for new products. Any time Nike develops new tools they test them with Oregon first, new fabrics and equipment that are lighter, uniforms that don't absorb liquids meaning athletes carry less weight, or help to keep athletes cool are experimented with at Oregon first...if athletes like it, then usually they start to trickle into the equipment of other schools and pro teams a year or two later.
But growing up in Eugene watching the Ducks on the slow climb to relevance, I'm always nostalgic for the days when the team actually wore our team colors, green & yellow.

Those are hideous. Who knew Oregon's colors were graphite and highlighter yellow?
I love the unis posted above me, especially with the angry Donald Duck logo on the sleeve.
