LSU was top 5 when Simone Augustus, Tameka Johnson and Sylvia Fowles were playing for LSU. We have no one their caliber on the team right now.

And whose job is it to recruit those caliber players?

I understand that, but it isn't because his teams lack effort. We just don't have the horses to truly compete.

Regardless, we're looking at 3 straight down years. It might be time to send the old man to the home.

I have to admit, I am not a big b-ball (women's or men's) follower but I do hang around the program enough to know that Van Chancellor has NOT done much for a once proud SEC & National contender basketball program. I agree that we don't have the type of talent we once had but....why not? Can't he recruit them? When he gets them here, can't he coach them? I never thought the Van Chancellor hire was a good hire, too bad pokey left us in such a lurch-I think that has hurt the program/recruiting much more than anything else.

Either when:

1.) The football team and baseball team start to suck balls.

2.) Van is caught having an affair with one of his players.

ie, never.

I would like for a trained psychologist to give me an answer as to what makes a person click on to a thread which is clearly labeled and concerns a topic of which they have no interest, then announce to the world that they don't care about the topic.

Then again, what would you expect from someone with a name of "PrimetimeDaBoss"

At what point is Tony Minnis on the hotseat? DD Breaux? Yvette Guirard? Whoever the swimming and diving coach is? Other coaches that have a job for life at LSU?

If you coach a woman's sport at LSU, you never have to look over your shoulder.

I think he is on the hot seat now, to be honest. Folks in the athletic building are watching things.

I think the problem is this...watching the team as much as I do (I make all the home games and follow the road games on TV/radio), it looks like the players don't respond to him. I kinda get it. I am sure when the players were recruited, it seemed like a good idea..."go play for a coach who won the Olympics and won titles in the WNBA". In reality though, what are a bunch of (mostly) black, college females, going to have in common with a late 60's white man?

All that having been said, he is on the verge of leading this team to the NCAA's for the umpteenth straight year, so it isn't all bad I think.

Men's basketball should have such a loser as a coach.
