Can you honestly see Mett taking over the starting spot?

Over a senior Jefferson coming off his best game of the season?

As much as id like to see it, I just can't fathom miles completely benching JJ.

The next few months will certainly be interesting.

To me if he didn't get benched this year then he NEVER will. He did everything but burn down Miles house.

You can hear the Spring game press conference now "They're competing, they're competing, it's a close race right now. Lee and Mett are really pushing JJ to get better. It's really close and we will continue to hear this the rest of the season.

when, in his 6 years, has miles not played the better QB? Which QB sitting the bench was clearly better than the one playing?

Depends on who the coach is next season. If he's spread, JJ sees action. If he's pro style, JJ sits the bench.

so Mett will clearly be better but Miles will start JJ out of senior loyalty? or will it be because of scandalous photos?

We can only hope.

One has to realize that Ole Miss and TAMU had very poor pass defenses, and Master Saban schemed LSU wrong. Otherwise, JJ had a putrid year. Last night was his best performance and he should have been the VIP IMHO (no ding on TT, cause he was worthy also), but he has not "turned the corner" as many myopic types might contend. Easy on that folks. However, to the OP's point, if Miles sticks around (highly likley), Sr JJ will be the starter with first right to screw up, and he will be complimented with Mett who will shine like mad.

Jefferson got a lot better when he was actually allowed to throw down field. I haven't been his biggest supporter but he's played pretty well lately. We can win a lot of games with the way he played last night.

This is just stupid. You can't just bench someone with no regard for who would come in and take their place. Benching someone is not supposed to be some vengeful and cathartic experience for the bencher and the fans. It's only meant to improve the team. And unfortunately, we only had Lee behind Jefferson this year. And as good as he played for a handful of drives, for the most part, he's pretty terrifying back there.

That's what I'm worried about..

Mett coming in and excelling, only to go sit on the bench for 2/3's of the game.

I agree that Miles and GC did not feel that Lee was an option. I disagree, as they gave him far less than a fair shake to show what he could do, but they felt this way, thus the play of mostly just JJ.

Even if JJ is playing better?
Even if LSU is winning with JJ?

Every completion was made to his primary receiver, almost always after being stared down. Difference between last night and most of our games is he got away with it against suspect Aggie DB's and wouldn't against most SEC defenses.

Doc, I'm proud of you coming around on JJ this season and seeing his limitations (and I'm being kind to call them limitations). I heard even before the season started from pretty good sources that Les knew he had a QB problem and I am hopeful that Mett will be under center against the Quackers next September.

There are 2 JJ's. The horrible JJ and the one we saw last night. We need Mett to help when the horrible JJ rears his head, which is a certainty if history is any indication at all.

Agreed

I don't think people are taking that into consideration.

Jefferson also had a good game against ole miss.

Doesn't say much..

Earlier in the year when given the chance Lee played clearly better. Example, Florida and Tenn game. Miles constantly made mention of how close Lee was to JJ during the spring and going into the season. If this was true then why was he only allowed to split time instead of outright start like JJ did?

Was Lee anymore or less terrifying than JJ?
Luckily it worked out for the better, at least we think so.

FWIW...this is the only thing I have disgreed with LSU on.
