He just started working here today. Does anyone remmeber this guy? I was only maybe 5 or 6 when he played, but looking online, he seemed to have a decent LSU career.

Very solid TE. Played on the '82 Orange Bowl team that almost upset Nebraska.

oh definitely.
he was probably drafted.
maybe by the cardinals.
a starter.
all-sec maybe.

I was in school with Malcolm Scott. Great tight end (All SEC in his senior year I think) and a real nice guy.

very good tight end on one of LSU's best teams (82)....very highly thought of by fans and media..drafted by Giants and played for 5 years or so....

where are ya'll working? Dow St. Charles?

I'm sure he'd rather be working at Dow. He was hired for our delivery/warehouse position.

Not with all those chemicals leaking??

I still think Malcolm Scott was the best tight end to come out of LSU. Guy was a horse and loved to watch him drag safeties and linebackers when he caught one over the middle. If memory serves me he made a phenomenol one handed catch in Orange Bowl against Nebraska.

year ahead of me. Very good TE. Had a big game in Birmingham vs Alabama when we ended that losing streak.

They're a shitty company to work for. At least in the engineering field they are.

When I tried out for the New Orleans Knights, Malcolm was there, too. We warmed up together and he ran some routes for me.

Got mixed up in drugs while still at LSU didn't he?

I understand the urge to spread news and rumors about LSU players, but I think you should have respected his privacy a bit more and not posted that info.

I knew Malcolm. Nice guy. Big dude. Funny you mention "delivery/warehouse position" A few years ago I trained a guy as a UPS driver that played football at Florida - Lorenzo Hampton. What a nice guy and a hard worker. Like every new hire at UPS, he got put on a tough route..... but he showed up every day and never complained. Once he cut himself real bad and just wrapped a towel around it and finished his route. Maybe I subconciously put him on the the absolute nastiest route I had because I remember how he used to kill LSU back in the day.

Couple of corrections/clarifications for this thread.
We lost to Nebraska something like 20-19. And it was Dalton Hilliard who made the diving one-handed grab in that game.
Nonetheless, Malcolm Scott was a great TE for us. The guy was physical. I know we've had some great TE's through the years (Greg LaFleur, Mitch Andrews, Kinchen, David LaFleur, Robert Royal, and I will include Dickson) but Malcolm Scott IMO was as physical of player as any of them.

Shut up you idiot! I didn't start this thread posting any rumors. I asked who heard of this guy because I never did and it was a little before my time when he played.

I know a couple of engineers that work at Dow. You probably know them. Initials KD and JM.

He played at St. Augustin HS in New Orleans. He was a stud for the Purple Knights and LSU. Good luck to Malcolm!
