I'm moving to my farm in Oklahoma from California. I will be mowing 3 acres and the rest will be brush hogged or cut for hay. I have a Craftsman garden tractor but I think I'm going to buy a nice zero turn. A guy there who is also retired military owns a shop that sells Grasshoppers and I'd like to give him my business but I'm not sure I need to spend $10-12k. I might go with an Exmark that's around $7k.

I have a 2015 Scag Freedom Z pro with the Kawasaki 23 hp/61”. No
Issues and i cut about 5-5.5 acres. Keep it greased, change the oil, and it should last a long time.
I paid 6800 new from the coop.

I Ferris bought snapper somewhat recently. So you can get a Snapper with almost Ferris quality for a lower price if that's an option for you.

Everyone around here loves the Hustler Raptor. I’ve looked into it and it seems like a decent machine well suited for residential

I bought a Hustler Fastrak 54” about 2 1/2 years ago for $6400+ tax. Has 23 hp Kawasaki engine, commercial hydraulic pumps for steering, and of course a welded deck like all commercial mowers. Came with 400 hour or 4 year warranty.

We are on 2 acres that I cut weekly for 7-8 months and I also had 2 - 2 acre lots in Fulshear that I cut with it for a year about every 2 weeks. Those took me just a little over 2 hours to cut. Been an awesome mower. Never had a single issue. Takes about 45 minutes to cut grass at home around flower beds, and about 30 trees. Have about 140 hours on it now. Will hit 4 years before I hit 200 hours.

They don’t put 400 hour warranties on these machines if they plan on working on them or changing hydraulic pumps.
