My 15 year old granddaughter wants to shoot a shotgun. Where can I take her to have this happen not breaking any law ?

Firing range?

Cane, cotton, or bean field outside of city limits?

Back yard if you have some land and not in city limits?

Hunting lease?

Wildlife Management Area or National Forest with open hunting season (e.g. for hogs)?

ETA: shooting club? I’m talking about the ones that throw target clays specifically for competitive shotgun shooting. There are many of these in Louisiana.

Find a local range that rents a 20 gauge.

Plenty of places between Baton Rouge and Slidell. Are you looking for a skeet course, a range, or a field?

Thanks for the advice.
Times have changed, when I first moved into Kenner La. I could shoot a shotgun in the front yard. I just want to help grant a wish my Granddaughter has. Hunters Safety Course latter on possibly.

Call the one you want to go to. Explain what your situation is. The Range Safety Officer can instruct your granddaughter on gun safety. They will also keep a closer observation of her while she is on the range.
Make it a positive experience for her and she will be hooked. Start her out on a 410.
