Also at Jim's and they have a few on slick guns. Haven't seen the .40 cal yet though

$579 at Precison too. I like to spend my money locally.

I have the .45 and love it. The 9MM is very tempting.

I saw the .45 for $550 and the 9mm for $525 at a gun show a couple weeks ago. Almost wish I had bought another one.

Me wonders if these will be in-stock...

Are these out yet?
ETA: Just looked it up. Will be getting as soon as I can pick one up!

Oh
I thought the .40 and the 9mm were coming out at the same time

It shouldn't take Springfield long at all to start making the .40.
The 9 actually weighs more than the .45. Both guns start with the same stock for the frame, barrel, and slide. The OD of the barrel is the same on both guns, giving the 9mm a heavier and thicker barrel due to it's smaller ID. The .45 slide is the same as the 9, except the extractor area is machined wider.
Swapping calibers on these guns should be as easy as changing the slide and the barrel.

That's a huge plus if that's the case

Too bad Springfield tries to control all aftermarket parts and production for the XD line... I love my .45 XD-s tho. Probably will get the 9mm for the woman for a gift. fricking love this pistol
