Wood Storage

I have some lumber & scrap wood stored in an unconditioned/uninsulated shed. I want to move it under a cover outside to free up space in the shed. Is this a bad idea? It will be covered but will be more exposed to the elements

keep it well off the ground and use stickers

Chances are the wood will take in some moisture being outdoors as opposed to being stored in a shed, especially this time of year with all the heat.
I know my back shed with conditions like you are describing keeps wood very dry since it is so hot in there.
Like already mentioned, if you are set in doing this, definitely use sticks and space your boards to allow for some air circulation and keep it covered for sure.

Some 2x4s, flat wood bit, and 3/4” PVC gives you racks you can mount high on walls inside shed. Give the PVC enough wiggle to twist out and you’ve got adjustable racks.

Storing lumber outside, make sure that the bottom boards are level, sticker ever 16". Cover with tin and make sure to extend that were rain keeps off it. Apply heavy weight on top.
Rough sawed lumber to air dry. Being pine that air dries to 11% moisture in 5 weeks here, there is no need to sticker it every 16". Hardwood, 16".
