Won a S&W SD 40 through the local Krewe raffle. Got a voucher for it at academy and was given the option of the gun, or a gift card of the value+tax. Took the gift card. $370ish.
Been eyeballing an M&P 9mm for a while.
The green full size 2.0 is 499.99 with a $50 gift card upon purchase.
SD in green with a crimson trace is $379.99 with a $40 gift card upon purchase.
Anybody have an SD and anything positive about it?
Seems it’s the much much more basic of the two and it’s likely worth it to spend the extra ~$150.
Just looking for personal opinions of the two.
Thanks

The MP 2.0 goes on sale occasionally. I have both the 4.25" and 4" (2.0 compact) M&P. Shooting, handling, and generally owning both, I prefer the 4.25" version.

Compared to the SD, in my own opinion, it is worth the extra money.

i have the S&W M&P 9mm and its well worth the extra money to not buy the SD or the compact unless you "need" a CC gun

i love everything about the full size M&P and after i added the night sights and the apex tactical trigger and set seer kit i love it even more

The SD is pretty much the only bad Smith gun. Go with a m&p.

I wouldn't recommend going with the SD. The last one I shot had a 12 lb trigger and the gun is cheap. I've got 3 m&p's, and they're great guns.

Right now Palmetto State Armory has a sale on the Shield 9mm at $199 after rebate.

I love my M&P 9. If you can throw the extra cash at it, go that route. SD is a decent pistol but it's not an M&P
