I had a .308 bolt gun so I already had some.
Kinda hard finding anymore though. Hunting ammo isn't hard to find.

Yeah I wanna build an AR10 next, but I've had more luck finding 300 BLK ammo than I have .308.

The 7.62 is faster moving, not as accurate (in 99% of platforms), more energy, and much louder. They are both good rounds. I own both but only hunt with the 300BLK.

They do make some hunting rounds and even some match rounds in 7.62x39. I have not purchased any because my AK is for pinking, but they exist. OR, you could always reload. All it is, is a 30 cal bullet.
