I am thinking about this foundation now, I need to quit saying all of my good ideas online before I start them. I would be a $150er by now.

The biggest cahnges this year

They created two divisions. One including trapping and one without. The without trapping division will be dominated by dog hunters.

They added a rule that no one could check your traps for you and notify you if hogs were in it. On the surface this sounds good but the guys who win big every year have traps with cellular linked modem cameras on them so it will not effect them. Most teams will "bend" this rule just like last year when only 4 team members were allowed to bait the traps, shoot, or handle the hogs and multiple teams broke that rule without consequence.

They go rid of the daily prizes and decreased the number of paid places. Now only 1st second and thrid where last year there were 5 places. They also increased the disparity in payout depending on place. This year 5000, 2500, and 500 respectfully.

They increased the side pot for Shelby county specifically to 5k for most pigs.

Basically the winner will walk away with 10 k

second gets 2500

and third 500

Last year to be in the top 3 spots you needed 100 or so pigs. So without buying any new trap materials, and using only the 14 traps we have the cost would be prohibitive. Only counting on fuel, bait, entry fee, and ammo you are looking at 1200-1500 of cost. I had premptively bought more materials for 10 more traps this year and the cost was 2000. Luckily they let me return it all when the rules came out.

Freedom aint free.
Or
Salvation is a phone call away.

Either would be a good slogan.

I've been with some guys trapping and shooting around Fairfield. It's unreal how many hogs are in this area.

Purp are you relaxing the firearms rule on the lease? I thought in the past it was archery only?

Hypnos just got accepted into grad school. Looks like I'm heading to Abilene and poverty for the next three years, but if I get a chance I will help you come smoke some hogs. Plus I have a cousin that is sausage crazy. Every time he gets home from off shore he wants to make at least 30lbs.
