I’m ready, just have to get some new waders. Going to try a company called gator waders out of Tyler tx. They have breathable insulated for 279$.

Do you have any experience with the breathable waders. Do you know how they hold up vs neoprene?

I buy breathable waders, the Cabelas brand. I have had them 2 years with no issue and I duck hunt a lot. I used to buy the Game Winner from Academy and I really like them and they are great price but the boot would start to crack at the seam by the side of my foot. I had two pairs to do this two years in row which lead me to make the switch to the Cabelas brand.

Man that is my exact experience in reverse. I went through two pairs of cabelas waders in under a season. Switched to game winners breathables and have had much better luck.

On my way home from work yesterday I saw about 30 teal in a pond next to a service road I have to drive on. Had me pumped up like a motherfricker!!!

For 90% (or more) of Louisiana duck hunting, absolutely go breathable waders. Have worn Cabelas DryPlus for years but now some others are using similar material. The Gator Waders looked to be built well when I checked them out at the Sportsman Show last month, the company is out of Texas.

Who's ready for Duck season?
Might squeeze in a hunt or two when I come home for Christmas. Choupique, put some blood in that pirogue for me.

I checked my pride in at the front door and settled for Game Winner breathables from Academy...most cost effective duck hunting purchase I’ve ever made. $350 waders or Game Winners? GW all day... If you’re a blue collar hunter like myself, and you live/hunt in south Louisiana, it’s really a smart purchase.
