Just got back. Been hitting the perch real good up shallow with jig and cork Today took a while to figure out. Didn't want much movement. Had to let it set still fit at least 5 seconds before twitching it

Not sure on bass. Always catch a few on my jigs.

My dad and his friend just got back. They caught 60~ crappie and 6 bass, one which was about 5 lbs, in 2 days time. They were biting in the morning.
Just cleaned the fish and there wasn’t eggs in many of the crappie, looks like they already spawned. 3 of the bass had eggs though

Fished mid-lake both TX and La sides from Wed-Saturday.

Fish where still holding on points and closer to deeper water then we where expecting. It wasn't until Friday evening when we caught our first female bass with bloody tail, and by Saturday we had caught a few more.

Mojo Rig was productive for some of our better fish.
Weightless flukes / finesse worms where productive in the buck brush. Square bills caught a few nice ones as well.

If you find good grass work it over, don't just make one pass over it. Fished liked a very slow presentation when we where there.

Alx and I went Saturday to Solans, pretty much in the blind. Its been several years since I've been and I figured it would be crowded. We shared a buck brush flat with many other boats. We saw several of them catch but nothing big.
Wound up with 8 total but only five keepers, on flukes and senkos. All had eggs.

This is pretty mind blowing of a question. Its Late March and moving into April on a top 5 lake in the country. The report is get there and fish. Its that easy. No one is gonna give you the info you are looking for. soft plastics and jigs up tight to brush and banks and various style cranks and plastics out a little deeper. Nothing has changed on that pattern in 2 decades for spring fishing at any lake, pond, river back water, or creek in the south.

I keep bass to eat all the time. But when I see a female who is close to spawning out I always throw them back. I dont understand why others dont do the same.

Fished it last week from Tuesday - Saturday. Very cold early last week, slowed bass bite to almost a dead stop for us. Fished south end, mid lake & around 1215 area. Much better action on Friday & Saturday as the bite picked up and more fish in 4 ft. or less water. Caught fish on weighless wacky senkos, rippin ratltraps on top of submerged grass, few on sq. bills, spinner baits and tx rigs. Had a bunch in our group all throwing different things. Had some nice ones, but didn't come easy.

I was there from last Thursday until today. Fished the south end. Had a few good ones. I have nothing to add except football jigs off shore. All that has been posted worked.

Never, ever keep a female bass that’s full of eggs. It’s like shooting a spike for meat rather than a doe.

<< Still jealous.

Heading down to the camp this weekend, but trying to talk myself into driving over to Toledo.
BTW, John's brand new boat has been in the water twice and back to the shop, TWICE. Its a POS.

I am thinking about running up there this weekend. I will have to fish out of my dad's boat because my brand new trolling motor arrived cracked.

<<<<< is pissed.
