Where to fish out of Delacriox?

Thinking about making a trip down to Delacroix this weekend to wet a line. Problem is I have never fished this area. Looking at the map it appears to be a pretty decent boat ride down to they bays. Should I make the trek down there or stay inside and fish the lakes? Primary target will be specks but wouldn't mind throwing a few reds in the boat! TIA for any help!

While I don't know Delacroix, I'll be fishing also may have to fish the marsh supposed to be windy as hell.

It's gonna be windy. Wind has been brutal down there the last couple of weeks. You'd be surprised at how close to Sweetwater you can find trout. Fish any points with moving water where there are depth changes. I'll avoid gonna be any more specific than that on here, but the trout are there. They're in their transition patters and hungry.
The reds are also stupid thick pretty much everywhere around there. Clean + moving water = fun.

I'd suggest not running that marsh if you've never been before. I've pulled many a boat off of many a mud flat down there. I know that a lot of the guides offer the tag along option. That way you could follow him out and learn a few things.
