Who still has acorn crop on the ground in mid January? that's an early to mid fall forage. No one should have significant acorns on the ground right now and if they do its in a rotting phase.

Nuttall oak can hold and release acorns into March - I done seen it many yrs. We have very few this yr due to the Feb '21 freeze and ice damage pruning the f out of red oaks.

I hunt in Area 4 in Livingston. Got two in the freezer, and I've seen more deer on camera and during the daylight than I ever have in the past 5 years. I started seeing scrapes Thanksgiving week with young bucks starting to get frisky. The older bucks started scraping a week or so ago. They've been cruising and chasing all over our lease. It all depends on the timber cutting cycle in the area you're in for enough cover and natural forage. If you don't have enough supplemental feed or bedding areas to keep them on your land, they'll move. We've also implemented not shooting spikes the past few years, and I think that's helped produce some more mature bucks.

We are seeing a lot of night movement on our cameras. I’ve seen a bunch kid does and small bucks. Today I haven’t seen anything. Nothing is moving in the woods at all as I type this. Very quiet, I usually have birds chirping and squirrels running around
