That's what we are looking for. We have a cooking station (grill/camp chef) out there and the world is a bathroom. So, sleeping is all it would be for, and I'm tired of setting up a tent.
Do you know the model name or number? Have you had any issues with leaks?

Only down side to a popup IMO would be the toilet situation and also protection from a heavy rain. A small tow behind would be better in that respect but much heavier. Hell my sister in law's popup can be moved by hand if need be.

This is a concern. Also, how well do the seals work for bugs. Mosquitoes can be a bitch out there.
I never see myself using the camper anywhere, but at our property.

Alright, the wife has given me the green light to buy a camper. We are looking for a pup, because that's all we need for where we are going to use it.
Should we go new or used? Any brands to avoid? What questions should I be asking during the buying process? What are common things that break/what should I be looking for if I go used?

Before committing on a pup, I would suggest looking at hybrids. Our first was one and we got it cheap used,

Awesome I was questioning that. I'm not opposed to used as this will be my first one. I really don't want to drop 20k on one right now. Was also wondering about those hybrids like you posted.

We used the hybrid to determine if we were going to like camping. We did, so we then wanted three things those could not deliver: slide, large shower, and enclosed bed.

I'm interested in something like that, but
1) we will not be using it a ton, so the extra cost of the unit may be a bit more than we want to spend.
2) where we will be using it, we barely spend any time in it. It's going to basically at like tent where I don't have to sleep on the ground and can store stuff.
3) Who are some reputable lot in Louisiana. (preferably Laffy-LC)

Bought our last one from one of those places just North of laffy on I-49. The one that is now a Camping World. Was very pleased.

Varies by size. I believe a 30' is around $4500, but I may be wrong.

A very nice used camper can easily be had for your budget. If you spend 10-15k you can get a really nice RV in excellent condition.
Shop around. Research and dont buy too soon. Someone already said it but if you buy from a large camper place they will know what to look for in order to make sure they dont leak etc.
