Might try Old River and see what it looks like. Water should have fallen a pretty good bit and the Ball Park may be getting good

It is getting close. Still a little high for my likes, but you should be able to catch some.

Let us know how you do and what the water level looks like. I'm anxious to go down there and check out our camp.

I'll head down to Cocodrie around 3AM, put the boat in and fish Saturday and Sunday. If the weather is as forecasted.
Gotta get a digital camera so I can try to post pics.
Y'all be safe whatever you're doing.

Mid 60's here this weekend. Going fly fishing at echo cove, hopefully. It has been a relatively cool summer.

It's in the 90s here and humid as hell. Plus, the mosquitoes and gnats are out.

No see ums bit the hell out of me last weekend, I will be better prepared for it the next couple of days. Sons of bitches are relentless.

Outside of that, the weather tomorrow will be incredible. Probably set up a fire next to the beach and cook the catch.

River seems to be falling fater now that the flow rate has decreased. I'll probably hit Old River monday and will try Bachelors Sleau (sp), Cypress Point, and the Ball Park. Im relativly new to fishing it. Any other suggestions?

If you're not getting hung up, you're not fishing close enough to the trees.

Shiners work best out there. Let them sink a good bit and reel in a foot or so every few minutes until you find what depth they are hanging at. With the water still being a little high, Batchelors Slough may be your best bet, or deep in the trees in the Ballpark area.

The falling water should trigger the biting, but you just have to find them. I think they'll still be deep in the trees away from the lake.

Quick hijack. I may have to take a business trip to Anchorage for a day or two. Best thing to occupy a day of my time?

Depends how much time you have. I would hit the Seward Hwy south to Girdwood/Portage and possibly points south (Seward) In Anchorage itself, hit Humpies, Chilkoots, possibly the Carousel (for a rougher crowd.) If you like "exotic dancers" hit the Bush Co. or Crazy Horse. Avoid the 4th st. scene.

Hike Hilltop in town for a quick, but somewhat scenic view.
