no size minimum would be good with me
So you want to wipe out the babies....studies have already shown that at 12" 75% of trout will lay eggs once. at 14" it goes to 100% once and many twice.
You've got to let them spawn. It shocks me that most people don't realize and or don't care this is the main reason behind the minimum size.

I think the idea is that by keeping more sub 12" trout you are letting more 12" + trout live. That plus the mortality rate for throwbacks is apparently high enough to take into consideration.

Limits I don’t care about. It’s rare we go out and come back with limits per person. It just doesn’t happen that often. So 15 is fine.
I don’t understand this line of thinking. Why would you support management based on your inability to catch a limit rather than basing it on actual data. I’m not sure why so many are supporting this when there is no scientific data behind it. Most people had tough summers Bc of the fresh water and those that didn’t caught tons of small fish. Barely a day has gone by in the last couple of months that my Facebook feed hasn’t been littered with people slamming the trout. Most in the same spots a few months ago that were claimed to be barren.

Facebook feeds are real science now?

You saw that contradiction too haha. Check out Jon Miller's video on youtube "part III personal reflections". He quotes some research done by LWLF on why we should be concerned about speckled trout numbers. It is not anecdotal research either haha.

No, but all summer I saw bitching and griping everywhere that there were no trout to be caught (alas by people fishing in areas affected by the high river). I fish mostly out of cocodrie and every trip I made this summer we couldn’t keep the small trout off our line. I’ve never seen so many. This was the experience from most of the folks I spoke with as well. The bad freeze and freshwater screwed a lot of stuff up, this fall it seems like things are getting right.
