I'm sure i had the typical Zebco like everyone else. But the first setup i had when i was serious about fishing was an Ambassador 6000 on an Ugly Stick.

I actually did not upgrade until college.

I caught many 5 and 6 lb bass and 10+ lb cats with those old 33's

Zebco. Can't remember the model though. It was plastic and brown/lightbrown. Put a hurting on the sac-au-lait population with that thing.

Mine was a Pflueger... They were on sale a few months ago

Seriously though, I've never been into it really until this year and now have a shimano and some other asian sounding one that starts with a D (samurai something?)

Still a noob, but I eagerly read everything you all post about bass fishing.

Mine was a snoopy pole until a 2-3 pound redfish put an end to it.

First actual setup was a Zebco.

I could put a white red dot beetle spin under any limb, log, snag, etc. Dont think i could snap it off like old, but would love trying.

Everyone goes nuts over coastal stuff, as do i, but wading a pretty stream with a 33 is great. Simplistic and forgotten. Hell i might load up and go soon.

I didn't even learn to overhand cast until I got baitcasters. I sidearm casted and could drop, skip, or sling a bait anywhere I wanted it to go. had it on a 5'6" rod with the old style rubber trigger grip like this:

My dad made me learn how to throw a bait caster before anything else

I still rarely overhand cast. I go sidearm 90% of my throws.

Inherited PowPow Cove's Garcia Ambassador 5000 a few years later and it was off to the races from there.
