I roll with a 100 qt., and prior to boiling I adjust my water level based on shrimp, crabs, or how many lbs. of crawfish I'm cooking

I love my 100qt with a double jet burner. I do plan to switch from a 30lb to a 40lb regulator for it though. Plus, with the 100qt, you can boil all your ribs next time you BBQ.

double jet from sams for 49 bucks

I got one this year too. I used for the third time yesterday with my 100 qt. pot. I'm very pleased.

I have two 80s and think they are too big. I would go two 6's if I had to do it again. 100 is going to suck as far as getting it up to boil is concerned.

My double jet burner begs to differ

For sure, my old burner took 45 minutes to get a 1/2 full 100 qt. pot rolling. The new double jet gets it going in under 30 minutes. The windshield design between the jet and bottom of the pot is awesome on those burners.

That's about right. Also, once the crawfish are dropped, it took my old burner 7 minutes or more to get it steaming out from under the lid again. The new burner does it in 4 minutes. In other words perfectly.

I boil with a 100qt pot and will usually do 1 sack/time and the best advice I can give is take a razor and scratch a mark at the 10gallon mark. One of the keys I find to consistently boiling good crawfish is getting your water right.

Nobody got time for that. I fill to the 4th hole from the bottom of the basket. There are 9 vertical holes total equally spaced per row.

Find out which hole is right for you.
