No dude, I am familiar with the study. What I was saying no to was the fact the only similarity the dog in the OP has to those dogs is the color.

looks like a cur to me ... and that is typical cur behavior. Very protective when their owner is around. Usually non-threatening otherwise unless you happen to be a hog, squirrel, or coon.

A dog biting someone when the owner is present and more than once is not good behavior. Owner has no control over his pet.

It's a BMC. Looks just like mine. RR's look the same because they came about them the same way, but they're bigger.

When Jesse gets his game face on that mohawk goes off and you're pretty sure something is about to die. And a lot of the time, you're right.

They don't all have the black mask. Jesse doesn't. But they do have the black mouth and skin. Web feet, and sometimes a little patch of white on the chest. Can be yellow, whitish, redish, etc.

The fact that she didn't get protective till the owner showed up is typical BMC. They are ultra protective of their family. They'll die for you. That look on her face is because they scolded her and she's ashamed. She knows she fricked up.

Generally you can control them with nothing but an inflection in your voice. They're that tuned in. Sometimes I think Jesse just reads my mind. They are NOTHING like a hound. Intelligent, sensitive, and fully engaged in being eager to please you.

Great dog. And since she didn't take a bunch of meat off you, she was probably just reading her owner when she came out and picked up on some kind of alarm or something. Jesse almost made a pizza guy shite his pants because the kids weren't expecting a man when they answered the door they thought it was their friend. I caught him just in time and once I let him know it was cool, it was cool. But that one split second when he read the alarm on my daughters face... BOOM Pizza boy's going down.
