Even in the marsh, my brother and I never bring more than about 6 dozen decoys. Two mojos and maybe a swimming duck and weasle ball if we bring everything. Majority of the time I hunt with 1 doz decoys, but that's generally due to it being a walk-in spot in flooded timber.

The most we ever bring is 2 dozen and a mojo maybe first split. We usually have a jerk string.

First split/early second depending on ducks: 12 greys, 14 GWT, 12 pouldeau.

Late second split: 4-8 greys depending on size of the pond.

I hunt Hopedale marsh and greys are our basket duck. I don't mess with a jerk string unless there's literally no wind, but it's always in the boat. I also never use Mojos and hunt in the marsh. Also, I have a 1442...so hauling a ton of gear with two-three guys isn't ideal.

A tip for working a jerk string by yourself: get a piece of thin metal tubing and bend it in the shape of an upside down J. Shove it into the mud under the water by your blind/spot and run the string underneath it. Ducks will see a string and they don't like it - especially later in the year. If you run it under the tubing it'll keep it hidden. When you're alone, just tie the end of the string next to you to a stick or something and keep it close on the opposite side your dog heels if you're working a dog. If you're calling and trying to run the string, do both until the ducks look like they're committed then drop the string back and grab your gun.

Yea I like hunting with at least one other. People like Beam on the other hand are damn weird loners and like to hunt by themselves and don't throw and invites.

Joking bud.

Quite honestly, I was still learning a lot this year. I hate bringing people and not killing.

Neck I agree with you partially on the use of mojo ducks.

The particular day I stated, myself and 2 other sugarass got 3 limits at 8AM on public land. I do not factor the mojo into being the reason we did well, but a small mojo placed off to the side can help in times of need.

I don't use dekes.

I have 48 mojos, 18 diver mojos, 12 swimmer mojos, and a mojo on the end of my barrel.

Keeps dem birds workin on da slick slick.

Only if I use my gun, I used a. Buddies once and not a bird would give us a look. Go figure he had no mojo stickers, or wackin & stackin stickers on his barrel. Never again, I got 3 of each on my barrel

i voted against it on that survey on ldwf but if it's legal i don't have any problem with me or anyone else using one. i honestly would prefer to use a jerk cord but i find it pretty tough to operate one when i hunt by myself and my "blind" is just me leaning up against a tree in the swamp. i'm working on this stuff this offseason tho.

Congrat on the birds.

As to BOURG comment, I know they work and I bet you have one in spread almost every time you hunt. The fact that they work well as they do at time is reason they should be banned. Not talking shite to POP cause he good poster and catch fish/kill bird unlike BOURG who dont' know shite.

BOURG post every picture of every bird he shot/fish caught in his life in 3...2...1...
