Fricking flying insects, one of the banes of my existence.
Save some loot, fill an empty spray bottle with dish liquid soap (Dawn, Murphys, etc) and water.
Make sure to completely cover nest(s) and insects.
The surfactant (soap) covers their lungs with a soap bubble, effectively suffocating them.
It works well (if applied thoroughly) and is much cheaper than those aerosols.
Put it in a garden sprayer for the giant swamp nests.

Shew, I lit the newspaper; jumped in my truck (there was a good road around this small pond). Then, when the fire was going out, rolled down window, sprayed Wasp & Hornet and had a flame thrower.

So good to have a thread without pistols or yaks, ain't it.

This badass turtle narrative is badass. Bloggers could learn a thing or two by reading through.
Our techniques are tried and true.

Flamethrowers are much more fun than what I suggested.

How in the hell I only got stung 3 times, I have no idea but thank god cause this was over 3 hours ago and it's still burning like a sum beyotch.

You probably know this, but just in case...

when I get stung I've found it helps a lot to wash it with soap and water immediately. I think you must be able to get some of the poison out by washing.

This thread is lethal.

No, actually I didn't know that. And I am usually hardly bothered when stung but these mo fos were different.

I couldn't find our ice pack so wet a towel, put ice in it and rotated it tween 3 stings. Really helped when it numbed it. As soon as it started to warm up the burn would return.

This morning it was minimal but still present. I called the property owner to tell him since he has a lot of grandkids. I know I didn't kill them all but maybe the fire will make them move.

I read it a couple days ago. Worth the read if you have some free time. Got me wanting to go catch some turtles. I'm going to scope out the lease next time I go. We have acres and acres of standing, stagnant water.

Boiled the turtle for two hours. Separated meat from bone then battered and fried it because I was cooking it for people allergic to pepper(s). Anaphylactic shock type reaction.

Never have eaten fried turtle before but it was delicious.
Gonna wake up late tomorrow, cook beignets and turtle eggs. Can't wait.

Turtle for breakfast, turtle cleaning in the afternoon, turtle lines in the evening...dude you need to step away from the turtle world for a few days.
