What gun manufacturer symbol is this?

I'm stumped, although I'm sure someone here knows. I got this stock in a lot of 4 but never found out who the manufacturer was.

Is this on a gun (proof mark)? Is it a modern gun or relic? Any idea of the nationality of the gun?

If its a proof mark then I'm pretty sure it's not made in the U.S. most or maybe all U.S. manufacturers just use their company letters in proof marks. Europeans get all fancy with the lions and griffons and shite.
