Thats what I use when fishing live bait under a cork...we literally have 12 of those reels...I use the ultralight spinning reels for throwing 4 inch works, baby crankbaits, beetle spins and such

I'm the opposite of you. I always considered bait casters open faced.
I fish 90% with baitcasters, but have a couple of spinning reels as well. They are good for chunking on windy days in the saltwater.

I have a few open face reels (baitcast) and a bunch of spinning reels. Just depends on what I'm doing as to what I use.
For a popping cork I use a spinning rod. Spoons, jerk baits, etc is baitcast.
Bream fishing is spinning.
Bass fishing depends on the size of the lure.
