How did you guys do? Myself and a friend were hunting public, and had a hell of a calling battle. Saturday got 4 teal, 1 grey, 1 spoonbill. We were being maybe a little to conservative, considering how hard it was to get the flock to commit we should have taken a few more shots a approaching ducks. Today was almost a scratch, got 1 specklebelly goose near Kaplan.

Hunting in between Kaplan and Guyden.
Saturday- 17 teal, 2 spoons, 1 dos gris.
Today (Sunday)- 4 teal, 3 greys, 3 spoons, 1 dos gris, 1 redhead.

Any reports from the Basin? Heading that way tomorrow morning.

My report was Indian Bayou on Saturday and today, Sunday was near Kaplan. Indian Bayou was great other than it being too crowded. Birds were flying all morning.

No. Monroe area. Didn't need to get in the blind til about 9:00. Big bunches of mallards after that.

Reports I got out of Jones were very spotty.

Mon-Thursday did very well, Friday sucked only a teal, could have shot some ringnecks but passed. In hindsight I should have taken what Mother Nature was giving me, cause that was it aside from some hoodies. Sat tried to goose hunt, nada. Today a mallard hen. Didn't see shite for birds. Ring necks left and took the other birds with them it seems. Ready to get back to the marsh, this field hunting sucks. Breaking out the lay down blind tomorrow and packing a sammich.

We've killed a few specks this year, but they're pretty inconsistent.

If I hunt out of my pit blind in rice fields very hard to kill geese only do good on foggy mournings but if I get a laydown blind set up in dry rice stuble put out couple full body specks almost guaranteed limit every time. There is nothing like seeing a group of specks cupped up 15 feet off the ground!

I also do conservation hunts after season kill lots of snows and blues

Killimg limits in Pecan Island. Not many teal though. They seem to have left the area. Lots of greys and big ducks.
