I picked up a base model foodsaver for $38 on Amazon on black Friday. Was the model with highest reviews. Works fine.
Given a more expensive model at Christmas. Sticking with the cheap model. I'll get my money's worth out of it and replace when necessary.

I got a V2244 right after Christmas on Amazon for $29.95. Only used it once, but so far so good.
