If you’re splurging on a benelli, I recommend the M2. Nothing against the ultra lite, I’ve never handled one. But last year I bought myself an M2 20ga and I love it. I have a sbe2 and a sbe3, both 12’s, and I prefer my m2 over them. I had been looking for a left handed one online for a while(they discontinued them), walked into Bowie randomly one day and they had 3 in stock. Couldn’t pass it up.

Found one in the 60’s range. Safe queen. Traded a browning silver hunter that would not cycle shells for it. Took it to a practice round for a clay shoot. So smooth and so good. Great gun. Have a 20 and a 12. Looking for the rarer sizes now

For a new autoloader under $1K, the Beretta A300 is going to be hard to beat. If you are price sensitive, also consider the TriStar Viper G2, which will save you a few hundred dollars.

The M2 is kinda the golden child of the 20ga benellis. I had an ultralight 12ga for a while. Incredibly nice shotgun. It was really too nice to use but I used it anyway and it was as tough and reliable as it was pretty.

The people I know with M2's all love them. Damn fine hunting shotguns.

Out of all the semi auto 20’s the benelli is my favorite. Got the 28ga last yr and it’s badass too. I only shoot Beretta in 12ga. U should check pawn shops and see what they have. That’s how I got my first Beretta when I graduated college.

For the record, I have a Benelli M2 in 20ga also. Just have not shot it yet, so I can’t vouch for it. I got it though, because everyone said it is sweet as hell to shoot. When we quail hunt this January, I will shoot the M2 and my sons will shoot the SX4’s.

After much research and reading of reviews and feeling how the gun feels I bought a Weatherby Element 2 Upland model. $795 and tax free today - Sunday

I went to a local outfitter and shouldered a bunch today. Pulled the trigger on a Retay Gordion!

Even though I didn’t get any of the recommendations, the research done on all the suggestions helped me a ton!

Damn Retay just felt right! Thanks again and happy/safe hunting baws!

Their upland walnut model looks a lot like the weatherby. Iam not familiar with that manufacturer. Where are they from and what made your decision. And all good luck with it!
