Upgrading Trolling Motor Question????

I currently have the Minn Kota Fortrex 36v (112 lbs.) trolling motor. I'm wanting to upgrade to an Ipolit one with the anchor mode. Which model would the OB recommend?

don't get the auto deploy. I've seen a lot of them break and have problems.

I have the auto deploy and same for all of my guide buddies. No issues to speak of.

I also have the Ulterra and love it. I had some issues with the circuit board shortly after I got it, but MK took care of it under warranty. The auto stow/deploy is nice, but the best thing about it is having power trim. I never have to get off of my casting or poling platforms to adjust the motor height. Honestly that part is so convenient that I don't care what kind of issues the motor has.

Looks like they do not have it on the website anymore.

The Ultrex is the correct answer. The mounting brackets holes line up perfectly when mounting an Ultrex after removing the Fortrex. The Fortrex trolling motor will fit on the Ultrex mount if you want a backup trolling motor. But the Fortrex will not fit on an Ultrex mount. The steering is the same for both which is cable. Not much of a learning curve. If you have Humminbird depth finders get the link. Get the Ultrex. You won’t regret it.

i have an "A" pilot, i tell the other guy "A" get up der and run da trolling motor. it works great too
