Upgrading the trigger shoe on a Glock 43X

At the range, after about 50 rounds, I’ll start getting a blister on my trigger finger on the side closest to my middle finger.
Doing some dry fire at home, I noticed that my finger is dragging along the trigger guard during reset, and part of it will get pulled under the trigger.
Some googling showed that this is a common issue with the 43X.
I’ve seen suggestions that changing out just the trigger shoe - NOT THE ENTIRE TRIGGER MECHANISM (I put this in all caps because I know a few people will just kind of skim this post and reply with a warning about changing out the entire trigger, which is NOT what I’m looking to do) - will help alleviate this issue.
Has anyone here done this? The most recommended shoe replacement is the Johnny Glock VEX shoe Johnny Glock Website
Anyone have any experience with this?

Never tried the Johnny Glock one, but I love this one.
Timney
ETA: reviews seem to praise the internal hinged version, but I went with the external blade. Just a preference.

Might as well polish the feed ramp and trigger parts while you have it apart.

Please post what you decide to do and how you like it.

I'm not sure if changing the shoe is going to help you. You must have some thick fingers if it's rubbing against the guard and under the trigger. I would try opening up the inside of the guard with a dremel first. If you do change the shoe I would also suggest getting a ghost connector while you're in there. It's very cheap and it's totally worth it.

i'm one that prefers to keep stuff original, but this is a good idea.
there's also the SCT frame for the 43x. it has a larger trigger guard already for gloves.
comparative price as the trigger shoe he wants. colors vary as well.

Timney
I looked at the Timney shoes too. From what I've seen, people have had problems with the Timney and how adjustable it is. Mainly having to constantly readjust the trigger safety screw as it'll back out enough that the safety is no longer engaging.
Not sure if its common enough to worry about, but its a concern.

From what I've read, changing the shoe to something like the Johnny Glock should help, as the new shoe reduces the travel of the trigger during reset. Also the geometry of the new shoe is supposed to help with it. How that translates in practice, I don't know. That's why I wanted to see if others have done this.

Not a fan of permanently changing the pistol like that. Plus my dumbass would screw it up somehow.

I want to keep everything else as stock as possible.

After recording how many turns the screw is set at, I reinstalled it with a dab of blue loctite (was recommended somewhere, whether an instructional video or the included paperwork itself). No issues after several hundred rounds so far. I understand your concern though.

Why not just file the end of fhe trigger shoe down a little?

That's also an option. But I do like the idea that a new show would make the trigger pull more crisp with less travel distance on the reset.
But I'm looking at all options.

This guy on X had an ND and accidentally shot himself because he had the Timney Trigger too dialed in, so the trigger safety wasn't touching the frame.
